Charlie Bolton became Bristol’s first Green councillor in 2006. When elected, he achieved a number of successes, including getting the Council to set up and adopt 40 or so polices on climate change and another 40 or so on sustainable transport. He helped save the Bristol–Bath railway path from becoming a bus rapid transit route. He started the campaign to give local communities a greater say on how Section 106 money is spent.
Charlie has lived on Beauley Road in Southville since 1991. He works for a small cycling charity, and before that was a systems analyst at a Bristol based financial services company.
