Councillor for Clifton

|Bristol City Council Website: Paula O'Rourke|
Paula O’Rourke was elected Councillor in 2016 for the Clifton ward.
Questioning the Mayor in both Council and Cabinet meetings, and sitting on the council’s HR committee, Paula has 'held the Mayor's feet to the fire' in her role as a Green Councillor, striving to hold the administration to account particularly on HR matters. She has been pushing for answers from the administration on various HR and remuneration issues, including the issue of the payment made to the Council’s former CEO, which resulted in the Council’s external auditor investigating the matter.
Paula is now chair of the Growth and Regeneration Scrutiny Commission and sits on the Downs Committee.
In her ward, Paula has been making the case for the importance of local libraries against a backdrop of proposed cuts and library closures, and sits on the committee of Friends of Clifton Centre and Library (FoCCaL).
Paula’s priorities in Clifton are to improve waste management, halt unsuitable developments and improve social cohesion.
