An eye opening talk by George Monbiot

Last night political journalist and environmental activist, George Monbiot, spoke in front of a tightly packed audience at the Wills Memorial building as part of the Bristol Festival of Ideas. His talk was called ‘What a Green Government could do if it really tried’. Beginning by stating that what the environmental movement really needed was people to “challenge us and challenge the political status quo”; an idea that resonated with supporters of the Green Party who, for years, have been challenging ‘business as usual’ politics.
