Bristol Green Councillors statement on refugees from Afghanistan

Bristol has long been proud of its status as a city of sanctuary, and following the desperate scenes in Afghanistan this past week, our sanctuary is needed more than ever.

Bristol Council must take on as many refugees from this disastrous war as we can – and given the UK invaded Afghanistan and helped to create the crisis we’re seeing today, the Government in Westminster must significantly step up its commitment and take on a larger number of refugees, and much sooner than over 5 years. People are in danger now and need our help.
