Over the last three weeks ‘School Strike for Palestine’ has been collecting signatures on their petition asking the four MPs who represent Bristol to call for a ceasefire in Israel-Palestine.
This week the striking school children invited the Bristol MPs to collect the petition and listen to their concerns. None of the four Labour MPs responded, therefore organisers invited Green Party co-leader and MP candidate Carla Denyer, who has already been using her platform to advocate for a ceasefire.
Carla said:
“It is disappointing that none of the MPs who represent Bristol came to listen to the concerns of the school children.
“I thank the organisers of the School Strike for Palestine for the stand they are taking and for inviting me to support and amplify the voices of the children of Bristol.
“The Green Party will continue to use its platform to advocate for a ceasefire and I am glad that the children taking part in this strike feel heard by us.
