Anna says:
“This is all a bit strange, isn’t it? Just weeks after you’ve been asked to vote in a local election, there’s another one!
This is because Labour selected a candidate who is employed by the council, meaning they’re not eligible to be a councillor. So the election is being re-run at the taxpayers’ expense. You now have an extra opportunity to back a hard-working Green candidate who is dedicated to our local area.
I was one of your Green candidates in the May 2nd local election and have been working hard for the area since moving to Horfield five years ago: from fighting for more affordable services, working to protect green spaces, and making our streets safer.
At the local elections on May 2nd, I was the runner up here in Horfield, which means I can challenge Labour this time.
The other parties don’t have enough support to win here, so this re-run election will be a clear two-horse race between the Greens and Labour.”
