Lily Fitzgibbon is the former Green councillor for Bishopston and Ashley Down ward. She served from 2021-2023.
Lily grew up in Bishopston and has been an active member of the Green Party for several years. When she was 16 she became a founding member of Bristol Youth Strike 4 Climate, who played a key role in the campaign against Bristol Airport expansion, organising protests against it.
In February 2020, Lily helped organise the protest attended by Greta Thunberg, which had a turnout of 30,000. She is also a former co-chair of the Young Greens.
In May 2021 she was elected alongside Cllr Emma Edwards for Bishopston and Ashley Down ward with over 45% of the vote, making her one of the youngest councillors in the UK at the time.
In July 2023, Lily stepped down as a councillor so she could move closer to her family. Her seat was successfully defended by Cllr James Crawford in a subsequent by-election.
