Molly Scott Cato to speak at Bristol University
Molly Scott Cato, leading Green candidate in the coming European elections, is due to speak with students at Bristol university next Monday about her proposed alternatives to austerity.
Molly, an internationally renowned green economist and Professor of Strategy and Sustainability at Roehampton University, is nationally active in calling for change to the banking sector and economic injustice, most recently launching proposals for the break up of RBS into local community banks.
“As I work in a University myself I know that young people feel betrayed over tuition fees which I and my party also oppose. The politics of austerity is threatening their futures and I will share with them my thoughts about how we can challenge destructive economic orthodoxy and move towards a just and sustainable future”, said Molly Scot Cato.
The event, being held at the Wills Memorial building on Monday at 6pm, will also feature panelists including Ciaran Mundy – Director of Bristol Pound, Professor Ruth Levitas – University of Bristol’s Sociology Department, and Dr Razvan Constantinescu – Chair of EuroMove Bristol & Bath. It is free and open to the public.
Molly is the Green Party’s National Finance Speaker and was the Party’s representative on the national NO campaign that prevented the UK from joining the Euro. She is also Leader of the Green Group on Stroud District Council.
