Local elections: West Country results bode well for Bristol West win
05.05.17
Molly Scott Cato, Green MEP for the South West, has welcomed the emerging West Country local election results, as counting continues.
The Green Party is successfully defending a number of seats while making gains across the region.
Commenting on the regional picture, Molly, the parliamentary candidate and bookies’ favourite for Bristol West [1], said:
“I’m delighted to see Greens make gains across the West Country. It’s looking like it will be a great result for the Party.”
“My election as MEP in 2014 gave us greater political visibility across the South West and our good showing in these elections proves again that when people have experience of Green representation they choose more of our principled and practical approach to politics. Where elected, Green Party politicians make a real difference in their communities.“
“The results bode well for a parliamentary gain in Bristol in a month’s time. I’m pleased to be able to offer voters in Bristol West a chance to vote for a future to believe in. It’s time.”
