Eastville

Local Green Party campaigner Lorraine Francis was elected as the Councillor for Eastville Ward at the last election, as part of a Green surge that saw the Party become the joint largest on Council.

Eastville ward is recognized by its park, Eastville Park, the Greenbank cemetery and cycle paths.  Not forgetting the Royate Hill Reserve and the many small businesses in the area. 

Whilst we have access to these great facilities, there are issues which many local people have concerns about, including speeding motorists making our roads unsafe, antisocial behaviour and a lack of local facilities. People say they are concerned about the quality of the air that we breathe, as well as high rents and the overall lack of resources for young people. In Eastville, there is a sense that certain parts feel neglected and how great it will be to support change.  Our great assets need to be protected and families need to be supported.

The local green team, members and other local people that care about the neighbourhood are all working to make Eastville a great place to live.

Securing first-aid training for vulnerable women and providing free coats for those struggling with the energy crisis are just two examples of how she puts Eastville residents first. She listens to your concerns through her ‘Walk and Talk’ sessions and councillor surgeries. Following the recent closure of Royate Hill Lorraine was on site regularly speaking to residents and secured improvements to the signage to respond to their concerns. She has also fundraised for two defibrillators to save lives across Eastville.
