Did Leave.EU take data from Bristol companies?

Bristol’s Green MEP, Molly Scott Cato, has today written to Avon and Somerset Police to ask if the force is investigating new evidence that Bristol companies GoSkippy and Eldon Insurance allegedly shared data illegally with Leave.EU.

The request comes on the back of evidence given by Brittany Kaiser, the former Cambridge Analytica Director, who today gave evidence to the Department of Culture, Media, and Sport Select Committee. She makes the allegation that data was possibly transferred between two of Arron Bank’s companies – GoSkippy and Eldon Insurance – and Leave.EU, the campaign that Mr Banks co-founded.

Commenting, Molly said:

“There is a growing body of evidence that points to abuses by the Leave campaign and these must be fully investigated. No one is above the law and that includes Arron Banks who co-founded Leave.EU and who owns these Bristol based companies.

“I have written to Avon and Somerset Constabulary, not just to formally lodge the evidence given in Parliament today, but also to seek clarity about who between the police, the Information Commissioner’s Office and the Electoral Commission is investigating this. If crimes have been committed, those found guilty must be held to account.”
