EU Diplomats visit Carla Denyer in Bristol West

On Thursday 11 May, a group of EU diplomats visited Carla Denyer in Bristol West. It was part of their tour visiting current and future MPs in their constituencies, to gain perspective on local and national issues.

Diplomat Clemens Kohnen explained “We are in Bristol, five Europeans from European embassies in London. I’m from the German Embassy, and we are visiting MPs or future MPs in their constituency, to see what life is like outside the Westminster bubble.”

As a crucial political issue in Bristol, the visit was centred around the topic of housing. The visit opened with a number of presentations about the Green Party in Bristol and the local housing crisis. Following this, Carla and Yassin Mohamud, Green Party Councillor for Lawrence Hill led a tour around the Barton Hill and Lawrence Hill’s tower blocks, showing examples of the housing discussed.
