Christine is Bristol born and bred, attending local state schools. She is passionate about the city we live in, its unique history, vibrant communities and the future we are creating for our children. Her father grew up on North Street above a toy shop run by her grandfather whilst her mum worked in Wills Tobacco’s offices on Bedminster Parade.
Christine has particular expertise in Special Educational Needs and understands how planning for school places operates. She is an experienced teacher, school governor, the chair of Bristol’s School Forum and a co-founder of Integrate UK, a charity that works to empower young people to participate equally in an integrated, cohesive and representative society.
Christine says, “Local planning proposals such as Bedminster Green and Cumberland Basin are local issues that will have wide impacts, residents need to have their views taken into account. Southville needs more traffic calming and road safety measures alongside protection and enhancement of existing green spaces to make neighbourhoods liveable. Tony and I share a common goal, to ensure the people of Southville get the best possible outcomes from the decisions made by Bristol City Council and its partners.”
