James Crawford

James Crawford is a Green Councillor for Bishopston and Ashley Down ward. He won a by-election in August 2023 with over 50% of the vote, before securing his seat for a second time in May 2024.

James grew up in Bishopston and went to Bishop Road Primary School, so is very familiar with the area. He works as an engineer in the building services sector and brings vital subject knowledge to City Hall. Even before his election, he was working hard, helping to report issues in the area and speaking to residents about traffic concerns.

As a councillor, he has been working hard to improve waste management and cut traffic congestion. Alongside Emma Edwards, he has worked to improve road safety around schools as well as protecting and improving green spaces in the ward.
